Flexible Vacation Policy

VACATION POLICY

At Midi, we offer a Flexible Vacation Policy to our HQ employees, which empowers employees to take time off to rest, relax and take care of personal needs. Our internal teams, external partners, and patients depend on you to be your best self and that requires you to recharge from time to time.

Eligibility

All exempt and non-exempt employees are eligible for vacation pursuant to this policy

Usage

We know our employees work in the best interests of our customers, employees and the Company in general.  The Company allows each employee to determine, consistent with the employee’s responsibilities and business necessity, when and how much vacation time to take off.  As such, vacation is not a form of additional wages for services performed, however, it is part of the Company’s promise to provide a flexible work schedule to better accommodate our employees’ lifestyles. Paid vacation time off is beneficial and employees are encouraged to take time away from work to refresh and revitalize.  Accordingly, vacation is not limited, allocated, accrued or earned.  As such, there is no specific amount of vacation time provided and there is no bank of time.

Employees may schedule reasonable vacation for any time during the current calendar year, subject to any department and/or position specific blackout dates as well as the approval of the employee’s manager.

Employees are expected to exercise good judgment about taking vacation time and should anticipate important business activities, deliverables, and deadlines when scheduling vacation. As always, clear communication with the employee’s manager is expected for all time-off requests. Requests must be submitted with as much advance notice as possible via Rippling and approved by the manager.

  • For exempt employees, requests that exceed one consecutive week require manager approval and must be submitted at least four months in advance. Requests exceeding two consecutive weeks require approval from both the employee’s manager and department executive and must be submitted at least four months in advance. </aside>

  • For non-exempt employees, requests under 5 days/40 hours can be submitted no earlier than 2 months and no later than 1 month in advance. Requests over 5 days/40 hours and up to 10 days/80 hours must be submitted at least 4 months in advance and no earlier than 6 months prior. </aside>

When reviewing vacation requests, managers will consider business needs, team coverage, and individual performance. Every effort will be made to approve requests, which will generally be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis, subject to these considerations.

Any single period of vacation may not exceed two (2) consecutive weeks, unless approved in advance as outlined above. In general, employees typically take between three (3) and four (4) weeks of vacation per year. However, this range may vary depending on personal and/or business needs.

Pay

  • Employees will be paid their base salary or regular wages for approved vacation time.

  • Since vacation time does not accrue under this policy, there are no accrued balances to be paid out upon termination of employment, unless otherwise required by applicable state law.

  • Since employees do not accrue or earn vacation under this policy, employees will not be paid for any vacation upon termination of employment for any reason, unless otherwise required by applicable state law.

Time Off Due to Illness or Leave of Absence

Team members who need time off for illness or to care for an eligible dependent under local, state, or federal law will use paid time off under the Paid Sick Policy and any other applicable leave available to them. Flexible Vacation cannot be used to extend a leave of absence.
